Effective ways of learning in Psychology


Effective Methods of Learning 


1. Learning by Doing :

Learning by doing is one of the most effective methods of learning, and children learn to act on their own and set goals and plan themselves and try to do it in a variety of ways to accomplish that plan. By learning from this method, the child can evaluate himself and try to identify and correct the shortcomings he may have left behind or try to correct them. Any work done by itself has a direct effect on the mind of man for which the subject can be remembered for long. Not every human being learns by his own intelligence but by doing it.


For example: Any school program or literary or cultural program, the teacher asks the child to organize the event so that the child can make whatever is lacking or what is obstacles and not make the same mistakes in the times to come, so children in schools or colleges can be put forward for any program.


2. Learning by Imitation :

When the child is young, he learns from his mother through imitation, as the mother speaks or asks her to do. Imitate means to repeat something in the same form. Every man has his own tendency to imitate or imitate and make the sound of a person makes him write the things he wrote. The method of imitation is more effective on children, less educated persons, less intelligent beings, persons of keen intellect, etc. It is more appropriate to learn by imitation even for moral and moral education, for the family which is to learn and emulate as children see them and so does the family or its neighbourhood.


As an example: for the child to be reminded of the hill, the teacher first reads the hill, followed by the child or the boy, or in the pre - primary classes the teacher 's class writes varna in his copy and the children write it as a simile.


3. Learning by Observation :

Learning by observing is the effective methods of learning is also an important method. Whatever work the child does, it is up to him that the child learns very quickly about things that he observes, places, etc., and is a permanent learning. This method is the simplest method because it is learnt by direct observation rather than by verbal narration. It is the object or substance or place or event which is before the child when he observes anything. The children touch what they see, talk about what they use, which makes the children learn very quickly, because it takes a long time to learn things without seeing them or things through imagination, but when they are put in front of the children, the child learns very quickly and learns, because by doing so the child uses more than one senses for a long time.


Example : Subjects like physics, chemistry or E.V.S are practiced and children are taken for tour from time to time. Subjects of history or geography are carried out for observation from time to time so that they can see and learn from them.


4. Learning by Experimentation :

Man has the power to think about anything. Some ideas have a fixed basis and some ideas are imaginary in order to find the true basis of imaginary thought, which is called a trial. What is the effect on solids and liquids in such heat? To examine the effect of high rainfall in rice cultivation or to examine the effect of any chemical effect on the crop is called learning.


For example:

Children of science subjects are taken to science lab for different types of testing and chemical substances produced from them.

5. Learning by Whole and Part method :


Any subject can be learnt in two ways. first in whole method and second in Part method. If we read the text or chapter of any subject in one go, it is called the whole method. But when we read the same text in many parts or in small pieces, it is said to be learnt in a Part method. By Part methods we first learn or read one part, then read the other, or learn it is the most useful method because it is easy to read and learn in every way, but it is difficult to read or learn at once.

For both these methods, the age of the learner depends upon the length of the subject matter, the practice and the ability of the learners. Whole method is more useful for persons of keen intellect for a small subject in higher classes, but it is very convenient for children to learn a long subject matter and a Part method for the less intelligent.


6. Learning by Massed and Spaced method :

In order to learn something, we constantly try to do it, it is called continuous method, and when that effort is not constant but breaks down or learns from something by little, it is called Spaced. The stop method is more useful than the pleasure of the ritual as the child does not become fatigued by pauses, the child 's interest in learning which is often interstopped gives a good chance to make bala' s memory sullied, moving forward in their minds. But any action or subject that can be learned should be done in a short or light manner.


7. Learning by Group method :

Group learning is many times better than individual learning because in group method, every individual 's memory or mind is involved in performing the work that arouses different perceptions of the people and individual learning is limited to one individual that affects only and only one individual. In both these methods, the group method is considered more effective.

The major group methods are:


i. Discussion method :

Discussion is a method of learning wherein students come to a definite conclusion while discussing any text or problem. The debate method is quite different from the method of debate because students who take part in it look for a source of origin while in a debate they try to strengthen their stand by debating the issue rather than trying to find the truth. Students are more active in the discussions and teachers guide them according to their needs.


ii. Conference and Seminar method :

The conference and the seminar are held between the members of a group in a logical and informative environment. All the members of the group have the opportunity to share their views at the conference and the seminar. By this method the members of the group come to a proper conclusion after considering a particular and important problem. At the conference and seminar, I give the post - graduate students the opportunity to think more and understand more and the knowledge they acquire is more clear and effective and the interest they give to the students and through them instruction instruction instruction instruction remains permanent.


iii. Workshop method :

This is a method of learning where students not only discuss ideas but also perform constructive work collectively. The method of workship is any subject or problem or task collectively considered and tried to find a solution to it and discussed so that the theoretical aspects towards it become clear, thereby solving the problem. Also, group work is done by the participants who participate in it. The workshop method provides opportunities for students to work on their own, thereby generating interest in solving the problem and increasing learning by solving the tax problem.


iv. Project method :

The project method is experience - centric method because this method involves putting a problem before the student and collecting information to solve the problem or task. Students study the material related to the subject matter, collect and analyze various data and conclude that by working collectively this method develops co - operation, empathy and social qualities in the student and the knowledge acquired by this method is permanent.


v. Play way method :

The child or student takes interest in all games or the child has a natural tendency to solve the most complex problems in a manner which in turn creates a keen and effective and lasting impact on learning.



As a conclusion, the effective methods of learning can be said to be both personal and group. The work which the individual takes more time to learn takes a lot of time in the same way that the individual must use group or individual methods according to his ability or work, so it is appropriate that the individual must use group or individual methods according to the individual 's capacity or work - according to the individual. It is natural that the individual learns through imitation, observation, and this is the specialty of every human being.
