7. Utilisation of Leisure Time:

People manage to get some leisure or free time even in this blind race of materialism. The working hours of each office or institute are fixed.

What should people do after this ? The work done during this leisure time plays an important role in individual development. A person can head for vices during this time and can adopt constructive hobbies for creative personality. But how ? Answer to this question lies in guidance and counselling.

Most people are not aware of their own interests, aptitudes and inherent capabilities. Consequently, they pass their time in useless things. If guidance and counselling are available at school, the students can be made to realize their interests and aptitudes and take them towards utilization of leisure time.

Arrangement of guidance and counselling is necessary for use of this leisure time.

8. Satisfactory Adjustment :

Satisfactory adjustment is essential for personality development. An individual has to face adjustment problems right from school and family to different circumstances of life.

If an individual knows his mental and intellectual abilities and is able to understand the changing circumstances including the related elements and causes, then he would not be confounded by the problem of adjustment and his personality would tread a progressive path. It is absolutely necessary to arrange for guidance and counselling in order to understand his surrounding environment and changing circumstances.

9. Development of Gifted Students :

Most of the students in a class are common or normal. Some of them are backward and some talented. A teacher keeps his teaching work at normal level generally. It benefits the normal students. When he pays some attention to backward or dull students, they too progress to catch up with normal students, but a talented student cannot be benefitted in such a situation or doing an exercise repeatedly. The number of talented students is less. Such students are not identified often due to their silent nature or they are victimized of the teacher's neglect. Special attention should be paid to such students so that their talent blooms fully. Such students can become problematic too. Identifying them is necessary for their proper development.

Besides, guiding them is also necessary and this can be done by guidance and counselling.
