Some more special differences between measurement and evaluation: -


Evaluation is always done in line with the objectives. Measurement is actually the determination of a situation while evaluation is the evaluation of that situation.


Expressing the academic achievement of the students in numbers is an example of measurement, while determining the satisfactory or unsatisfactory status of the students on the basis of their marks is an example of evaluation.

 

According to Wright Stone, in measurement, emphasis is placed on individual aspects of achievement of special skills and abilities, but in evaluation, special emphasis is given on the changes related to the person and the main objectives of the educational program .


Measurement does not require much labor and time, but evaluation requires more labor and time. Points are awarded in measurement. After checking the answer sheets, giving marks in them is measurement, but after awarding marks, determining the value of marks is called evaluation.
